§ 340 — Surrender of license and evidences of registration

§ 340. Surrender of license and evidences of registration.

(a)Any\nperson whose operator's or chauffeur's license or registration\ncertificates or registration plates have been suspended as provided in\nthis article and have not been reinstated shall immediately return every\nsuch license, registration certificate and registration plates held by\nsuch person to the commissioner. Any person wilfully failing to comply\nwith this requirement is guilty of a misdemeanor.\n (b) The commissioner is hereby authorized to take possession of any\nlicense, registration certificate or registration plates upon the\nsuspension thereof under the provisions of this article or to direct any\npeace officer, acting pursuant to his special duties or police officer\nto take possession thereof and to return
