§ 206. Deputization of agents. The commissioner may, in his\ndiscretion, deputize any person to act for the commissioner, subject to\nrules and limitations prescribed by him, for the purpose of issuing or\nrenewing licenses, registrations and number plates. Any such license,\nregistration or number plate so issued or renewed shall be subject to\ncancellation by the commissioner, if improperly issued. Such deputies\nshall not receive compensation from the state under this section, and no\nfee in addition to the fees prescribed by law shall be charged any\napplicant unless such fee has been approved by the commissioner. The\ncommissioner may, without a hearing, revoke at any time the authority\ngranted to any person under this section.\n
