§ 402. Summons; time to appear and answer.\n (a) If the summons is personally delivered to the defendant within the\ncounty, it shall require him to appear and answer within ten days after\nits service.\n (b) If the summons is served:\n (1) by delivery to a person, including an actual or statutory\ndesignee, other than the defendant; or\n (2) outside the county; or\n (3) by publication; or\n (4) by any means other than personal delivery to the defendant within\nthe county,\nit shall provide that the defendant must appear and answer within thirty\ndays after service is complete.\n
