§ 700. Election of the provisions of article fourteen by certain\nmembers.
a.This section shall apply to a member of the New York state\nand local employees' retirement system who is in a title defined in\nsubdivision i of section eighty-nine of this chapter, which title was\nadded to such section on or after January first, nineteen hundred\neighty-seven and who joined or rejoined such system on or after July\nfirst, nineteen hundred seventy-six.\n b. A member may, by filing an election as specified in subdivision c\nof this section, elect to be subject to article fourteen of this chapter\nin its entirety and subject to none of the provisions of article fifteen\nof this chapter.\n c.
