§ 450. Definitions. For the purposes of this article: (1) the term\n"correction officer" shall mean members of the New York state and local\nemployees' retirement system who are in a plan limited to uniformed\npersonnel in institutions under the jurisdiction of the department of\ncorrections and community supervision or members of such system who are\nalso in titles defined in subdivision i of section eighty-nine of this\nchapter and correction members of the New York city employees'\nretirement system; (2) the term "police officer or firefighter" shall\nmean members of the New York state and local police and fire retirement\nsystem, the New York city police pension fund, New York city fire\ndepartment pension fund, and housing police members and transit police\nmembers of the New York city employees' retirement system; (3) the term\n"sanitation man" shall mean sanitation members of the New York city\nemployees' retirement system; and (4) the term "investigator member"\nshall mean members who are police officers as defined in paragraph (g)\nof subdivision thirty-four of section 1.20 of the criminal procedure\nlaw.\n
