§ 384-a. Additional pension benefits for certain police officers after\ntwenty-five years of service.

a.In the event a member of the police\nforce of the village of Hempstead, in the county of Nassau, who is\ncontributing to the retirement system under section three hundred\neighty-four of this chapter, shall continue in service after twenty-five\nyears of total creditable police service under such section in such\nforce, he or she shall receive, upon retirement, in addition to the\namount of any retirement allowance he or she would otherwise be entitled\nto receive, pursuant to the applicable provisions of this chapter, an\nadditional pension for such service of one-sixtieth of his or her final\naverage salary for each completed additional year of service after\ntwenty-five years.
