  § 118. References in laws and documents.  Reference in any general,\nspecial or local law, rule, regulation or public document to an existing\narticle, section, subdivision or other provision of article four or\narticle five of the civil service law, as in force immediately prior to\nJuly first, nineteen hundred forty-eight, or July first, nineteen\nhundred fifty-six, shall be deemed and construed to refer to the\ncorresponding section, subdivision or other provision of this article,\nas added by chapter eight hundred forty-one of the laws of nineteen\nhundred forty-seven, or as amended or supplemented thereafter, or\namended by this act, as the case may be.\n
