§ 77-a. Members of the legislature liable to forfeiture of office. The\nconviction of a member of the legislature or any officer or employee of\nthe legislature of any of the crimes defined in sections seventy-five,\nseventy-six or seventy-seven of this chapter, shall involve as a\nconsequence in addition to the punishment provided in any such section a\nforfeiture of his office; and shall disqualify him from ever afterwards\nholding any office under this state.\n
