§ 160. Construction. This chapter shall not limit or modify the\nprovisions of the railroad law relating to the grant or acquisition, for\nrailroad purposes, of any lands belonging to the people of the state,\nexcept that no railroad corporation may condemn any canal lands\nabandoned pursuant to the provisions of article four of this chapter\nuntil after they have been sold and conveyed in the manner provided by\nthis chapter.\n
