§ 19-a. Family liaison officer. The adjutant general shall designate\nfamily liaison officers to provide assistance to the families of those\nmilitary personnel who have been deployed for active military duty,\nother than training. Such officer shall coordinate his or her duties\nwith the state's employee assistance program that is maintained by the\noffice of employee relations. The assistance provided by such officer\nshall include, but not be limited to:

(a)serving as liaison between the\nfamilies of service personnel and the department of defense;
(b)\nproviding information on family assistance programs that are available\nfrom the state and federal government;
(c)ensuring that the families of\nthose military personnel on active duty receive appropriate support and\nassistance. A f
