§ 62. Witnesses' fees. Any person attending as a witness under the\nprovisions of the last two sections shall receive the same fees as are\nallowed witnesses in civil actions in courts of record. Such fees need\nnot be prepaid, but the comptroller upon the certificate of the chairman\nof the committee, and proof by affidavit or otherwise that the same is\ndue, shall draw his warrant for the payment of the amount thereof.\n
