§ 660 — Commissioner's powers of investigation

§ 660. Commissioner's powers of investigation. The commissioner or his\nauthorized representative shall have power: (a) to investigate the wages\nof persons in any occupation in the state; (b) to enter the place of\nbusiness or employment of any employer for the purpose of (1) examining\nand inspecting any and all books, registers, payrolls and other records\nthat in any way relate to or have a bearing upon the wages paid to, or\nthe hours worked by any employees, (2) ascertaining whether the\nprovisions of this article and the orders and regulations promulgated\nhereunder are being complied with; and (c) to require from any employer\nfull and correct statements and reports in writing, at such times as the\ncommissioner may deem necessary, of the wages paid to and the hours\nworked by his employees.\n
