§ 203-a. Seats in certain passenger elevators or relief for the\noperator. Every passenger elevator operated and maintained for use by\nthe public shall be equipped or furnished with a seat, collapsible or\notherwise, for the use of the operator when the elevator is not being\noperated, provided the operator thereof is not allowed a continuous\nrecess period of at least fifteen minutes in every three hours in\naddition to and apart from a lunch period of at least forty-five\nminutes. Every passenger elevator operated in a building owned and\nmaintained by the state shall be equipped or furnished with such a seat\nfor the use of the operator when the elevator is not being operated,\nnotwithstanding the operator is allowed the recess and lunch period\nherein specified.
