§ 158-c. Appointment of calendar clerk for Putnam county and other\nnecessary assistants. Subject to the provisions of article 7-A of this\nlaw, upon the nomination of the administrative judge of the supreme\ncourt for the ninth judicial district, the justices of the appellate\ndivision or a majority of them may appoint and at pleasure remove a\ncalendar clerk, and other necessary assistants, in and for the County of\nPutnam and their compensation shall be fixed by said justices of the\nappellate division within the amount appropriated for such purposes by\nthe board of supervisors of said county. No person shall be eligible to\nsuch appointment unless he shall be a resident elector of the county of\nPutnam.\n
