§ 122. Compensation of official referees. Every official referee\ncontinued in office and serving under the provisions of this article\nshall receive as compensation one-half of the amount now or hereafter\npaid to the incumbent of the office which he held prior to his\nretirement; provided, however, that any official referee of the\nmunicipal court of the city of New York in the first or second judicial\ndepartment so continued in office shall receive as compensation\nthree-fourths of the amount paid to the incumbent of the office which he\nheld prior to his retirement. Any official referee of the city court of\nthe city of New York who is serving as such on April tenth, nineteen\nhundred forty-six, shall be entitled to receive as compensation,\ntwo-thirds of the amount paid to the inc
