§ 177. Damages in certain cases; how estimated. The owner of lands\nwithin the bounds of a highway discontinued may enclose the same and\nhave the exclusive use thereof, and the benefits resulting therefrom may\nbe deducted in the assessment of damages caused by the laying out of a\nhighway through his other lands in place of the discontinued highway.\n
