§ 837-c. Processing requests submitted by police departments.

a.As\nused in this section, the term "police department" means any police\ndepartment or sheriff's office of this state or any of its political\nsubdivisions.\n b. The police department may forward and the division shall receive,\nprocess and, subject to subdivision e of this section, retain\nfingerprints and such descriptive data as the division may require of\npersons applying for employment with such department.\n c. It shall be the duty of the division to forward to the police\ndepartment any arrest record involving any person described in\nsubdivision b of this section.\n d. It shall be the duty of the police department to notify the\ndivision if an applicant for employment by the police department has not\nbeen hire
