* § 646. Objectives. The object of these fair treatment standards\nshall be to:\n 1. Ensure that crime victims are given information on the following:\n (a) the role of the victims in the criminal justice process, including\nwhat they can expect from the system as well as what the system expects\nfrom them;\n (b) stages in the criminal justice process of significance to a crime\nvictim, and the manner in which information about such stages can be\nobtained; and\n (c) how the court can address the needs of the victims at sentencing.\n 2. Ensure routine notification of a victim or witness as to steps that\nthe court can take to protect victims and witnesses from intimidation,\nincluding the issuance of orders of protection and temporary orders of\nprotection.\n 3.
