§ 332. State highway safety program.

1.Notwithstanding any\ninconsistent provision of law, general, special or local, the governor\nis hereby empowered to contract and to do all other things necessary or\nconvenient in behalf of the state to secure the full benefits available\nunder the federal highway safety act of nineteen hundred sixty-six and\nany acts amendatory or supplemental thereto. The governor shall\ncoordinate the highway safety activities of state and local agencies,\nother public and private agencies, and of interested organizations and\nindividuals to effectuate the purposes of that act and shall be the\nofficial of this state having the ultimate responsibility of dealing\nwith the federal government with respect to the state highway safety\nprogram.\n
