§ 28. State declaration of disaster emergency.
1.Whenever the\ngovernor, on his own initiative or pursuant to a request from one or\nmore chief executives, finds that a disaster has occurred or may be\nimminent for which local governments are unable to respond adequately,\nhe shall declare a disaster emergency by executive order.\n 2. Upon declaration of a disaster arising from a radiological\naccident, the governor or his designee, shall direct one or more chief\nexecutives and emergency services organizations to:\n (a) notify the public that an emergency exists; and\n (b) take appropriate protective actions pursuant to the radiological\nemergency preparedness plan approved pursuant to sections twenty-two and\ntwenty-three of this article.
