§ 16-102. Definitions. As used in this article:\n 1. "Active mode" means the condition in which the input of a power\nsupply or consumer audio and video equipment is connected to the line\nvoltage AC and the output is connected to a DC or an AC load, fulfilling\none or more of its main functions and drawing a fraction of the power\nsupply's nameplate power output greater than zero.\n 1-a. "Product" means any appliance or equipment, other than a motor\nvehicle, which in operation consumes or is designed to consume energy or\nto result in the consumption of energy, including any water-related\nappliance, equipment or fixture that is designed to consume or result in\nthe consumption of energy in its operation or use.\n 2. "Authority" means the New York state energy research and\ndevelopm
