§ 3201-a. Discrimination on account of sex. Notwithstanding any\ngeneral, special, local law or rule or regulation of the education\ndepartment to the contrary, no person shall be refused admission into or\nbe excluded from any course of instruction offered in the state public\nand high school systems by reason of that person's sex. No person shall\nbe disqualified from state public and high school athletic teams, by\nreason of that person's sex, except pursuant to regulations promulgated\nby the state commissioner of education.\n
