§ 1713. Academy may be adopted as academic department. Whenever a\nunion free school district shall be established under the provisions of\narticle thirty-one, and there shall exist within the district an\nacademy, the board of education, when authorized by a vote of the voters\nof the district, may adopt such academy as the academic department of\nthe district, with the consent of the trustees of the academy, and\nthereupon the trustees by a resolution to be attested by the signatures\nof the officers of the board and filed in the office of the clerk of the\ncounty, shall declare their offices vacant, and thereafter the said\nacademy shall be the academic department of such union free school\ndistrict.
