* § 181-c. Legislative intent. The legislature recognizes the\nimportance of the beer brewery industry's economic impact in New York.\nThe history of breweries in New York, especially rich in Buffalo, as\nwell as the re-emergence of breweries and the recent popularity of\nmicro-breweries throughout the state has the potential to add to the\nstate's tourism trade and encourage such small businesses to flourish.\nIt is calculated that breweries directly employ two thousand four\nhundred seventy-six people, and support sixteen thousand related\npositions. The industry is responsible for nearly one hundred sixty\nmillion dollars in wages, and through direct and support industries\nsupplies New York with six hundred fifteen million dollars in state and\nlocal tax revenue.
