§ 33. Immunity of witnesses. In any investigation, hearing or\ninquiry, conducted pursuant to this chapter or the rules of the\ndepartment, the commissioner, or his deputy or other officer presiding\nat such investigation, hearing or inquiry, may confer immunity in\naccordance with the provisions of section 50.20 of the criminal\nprocedure law.\n
