Text
The board may acquire water rights or other sources of water, within or outside the region, for future use in accordance with the adopted comprehensive plan. Any right or source of water belonging to a local government or governmental agency within the region must be used in accordance with the adopted comprehensive plan. The board may impose a reasonable charge upon a person seeking a commitment from a public utility to provide water, for making water from a source so acquired available for that use.
