Notwithstanding the provisions of NRS 240A.260 to 240A.290, inclusive, any person who suffers a pecuniary loss as a result of a violation of this chapter or a regulation or order adopted or issued pursuant thereto by a registrant or other person may bring an action against that person in any court of competent jurisdiction and may recover the sum of $500 or twice the amount of the pecuniary loss sustained, whichever is greater. If the court determines that the plaintiff is the prevailing party in an action brought pursuant to this section, the court shall award the plaintiff the costs of suit and reasonable attorney’s fees incurred in the action.
