Text
The votes shall be counted in accordance with the provisions of the Local Election Act [Chapter 1, Article 22 NMSA 1978]. If a majority of the votes cast favors creation of the district, the county canvassing board shall certify the results to the county clerk in the county involved. Upon proper recording of the action, the watershed district shall be duly created. After recording, the certification shall be filed with the New Mexico department of agriculture.
