§ 72-5-9 — Supervision; inspection; completion of works; alterations
For the supervision of the construction of works for the storage, diversion or carriage of water there shall be in charge a registered professional engineer, whose qualifications have been approved by the state engineer. This engineer shall have full authority to carry out such inspections and instructions that are deemed necessary by the state engineer. On the date set for the completion of the work, or prior thereto, upon notice from the owner that the work has been completed, the state engineer shall cause the work to be inspected, after due notice to the owner of the permit. Such inspection shall be thorough and complete, in order to determine the actual capacity of the works, their safety and efficiency.
