members. A. At its annual meeting, the board shall elect a chair, a vice chair and a secretary- treasurer. B. The chair shall preside over the meetings and affairs of the board. C. The vice chair shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the chair and shall serve as chair due to the absence or incompetence of the chair. D. The secretary-treasurer shall be a physician member of the board and shall:

(1)review applications for licensure and interview applicants to determine eligibility for licensure;
(2)issue temporary licenses pursuant to Section 61-6-14 NMSA 1978;
(3)serve on committees related to board activities that require physician participation;
(4)serve as a consultant on medical practice issues when a board action is not required; and (5) perform any other functions assign
