A.The "board of acupuncture and oriental medicine" is created.
B.The board is administratively attached to the regulation and licensing department.
C.The board shall consist of seven members appointed by the governor for terms of three years each. Four members of the board shall be doctors of oriental medicine who have been residents of and practiced acupuncture and oriental medicine in New Mexico for at least five years immediately preceding the date of their appointment. Three members shall be appointed to represent the public and shall not have practiced acupuncture and oriental medicine in this or any other jurisdiction or have any financial interest in the profession regulated.
