Text

A. The classification of pharmacy technician is established. An applicant for registration as a pharmacy technician shall:

(1)be at least eighteen years of age and not addicted to drugs or alcohol;
(2)complete initial training as required by regulations of the board that includes on-the-job and related education commensurate with the tasks to be performed by the pharmacy technician; and (3) if the potential duties of the pharmacy technician will include the preparation of sterile products, complete an additional one hundred hours of experiential training as required by regulations of the board. B. Permissible activities for pharmacy technicians under the supervision of a pharmacist include:
(1)the preparation, mixing, assembling, packaging and labeling of medications;
