Any person interested in the common lands in such grant who shall be dissatisfied with any sale, mortgage, lease or other disposition of any of such common lands so authorized by any resolution of such board of trustees, may, at any time within thirty days next following the date of the meeting at which such resolution was adopted, file with such board of trustees a protest in writing against the carrying out of such resolution, and, if a majority of the owners and proprietors protest against such action within the time aforesaid, then it shall be the duty of the board of trustees to call an election conducted in the same manner as provided for the election of members of the board of trustees, and if at such election a majority of such owners and proprietors vote against such resolution, t
