New Mexico Statutes
§ 4-41-20 — Sheriffs, deputy sheriffs and other county peace officers;
public transportation; reimbursement. Whenever a sheriff, deputy sheriff or other county peace officer utilizes public transportation in the performance of any official business within or without the state he shall be reimbursed for the actual cost of the fare and shall not be paid mileage. The mode of public transportation used shall be the most economical possible, considering all the expenses and circumstances.
