Text
At the time of filing a declaration of candidacy for the office of senator, the candidate shall reside in the district for which the candidate files. Thereafter, if a senator permanently removes the senator's residence from or maintains no residence in the district from which the senator was elected, the senator shall be deemed to have resigned, and the senator's successor shall be selected as provided in Section 4 [2-8F-4 NMSA 1978] of the 2021 Senate Redistricting Act.
