Text

1.The Legislature finds and declares that the redevelopment of brownfield sites provides an alternative to the development of undeveloped land; that the redevelopment of brownfield sites would reinvigorate the surrounding areas, provide additional tax revenues to municipal government, and create jobs; and that it is vital that State, county and local governments concerned with the economic growth in the State have available an accurate and comprehensive list of known brownfield sites so that growth can be directed away from sensitive areas and into already developed areas or currently underutilized areas. The Legislature further finds and declares that landowners should be encouraged to list their property on the State's inventory of brownfield sites in order to enhance opportunities for
