§ 53:3-9 — Superintendent to install and operate basic system; personnel, civil service rights; title
New Jersey·Title 53 STATE POLICE
The superintendent is authorized to install and operate such basic system and employ the necessary personnel for its operation and maintenance. The persons so employed may be members of the Department of State Police with equivalent rank and pay, and civilian employees particularly qualified for the duty they are to perform. For the purpose of establishing civil service rights for full-time civilian employees, there is hereby established in the teletype bureau, the title of: Teletype operators. The present civilian employees of the teletype bureau shall be placed by the Civil Service and shall hold and retain their present title, pursuant to the provisions of Title 11, subtitle two, of the Revised Statutes.
