§ 52:31B-7 — Funds; financial assistance

(a) Notwithstanding the provisions of any law of this State to the contrary, any funds appropriated or otherwise made available to any State agency or unit of local government for the acquisition of real property, or any interest therein, for a particular program or project, or for the conduct and administration of any program of building or housing code enforcement or the voluntary rehabilitation of housing units, shall be available also for obligation and expenditure to carry out the provisions of this act as applied to that acquisition, program or project. (b) If any State financial assistance in any manner whatsoever is available to pay the cost, in whole or part, to any unit of local government of the acquisition of real property for public use or the implementation of a program of law enforcement or the initiation of a program or project for the voluntary rehabilitation of dwelling units, then the cost to any such unit of local government of providing the payments and services prescribed by this act shall be included as part of the costs of any such acquisition, program or project for which State financial assistance is available to any such unit of local government, and shall be eligible for State financial assistance in the same manner and to the same extent as any other cost of any such acquisition, program or project.
