No dental interne or resident certified under section 45:6-20 of this Title to any public or private licensed hospital or other public or private institution shall receive, collect or be entitled to, either directly or indirectly, any fees or compensation for any services rendered, while acting as such interne or resident; but nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent or prohibit the public or private licensed hospital or other public or private institution to which any interne or resident is attached from providing compensation out of its funds for services so rendered by such interne or resident.
