a.No person shall engage in the practice of alcohol and drug counseling as a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor unless licensed under this act. No person shall engage in the practice of alcohol and drug counseling as a certified alcohol and drug counselor unless certified under this act. No person shall engage in the independent practice of alcohol and drug counseling for a fee unless the person is licensed under this act as a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor or the person is a certified alcohol and drug counselor practicing under the supervision of a licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselor.
