§ 45:16A-40 — Continuing education required for license renewal.

13. a. The board shall require each master hearth specialist, as a condition of license renewal, to complete any continuing education requirements imposed by the board pursuant to subsection b. of this section. b. The board shall establish standards for the continuing education of master hearth specialists, including the subject matter and content of courses of study, the selection of instructors, and the number and type of continuing education credits required of a master hearth specialist as a condition of license renewal. c. During the biennial renewal period beginning July 1, 2021 and ending on June 30, 2022 and every biennial period thereafter, sponsors of continuing education courses selected by the board shall include one hour of education in propane services, including substantially the same information covered in either the Fundamentals of LP manual, 2007 edition, or the Gas Installation for United Association Journeyworkers and Apprentices manual, 2003 edition. d. After completion of the education in propane services required pursuant to subsection c. of this section, sponsors of continuing education courses shall administer a competency evaluation examination, that tests a master hearth specialist's understanding of the information provided on propane services. e.
