Text

The governing body of every municipality may: a. Erect, extend, alter and improve such buildings as may be necessary for the housing of the poor of the municipality; and b. Acquire by purchase, gift or condemnation the necessary land for that purpose.

c.By resolution, adopt an official name for such building or buildings as are used for the housing of the poor. Amended by L.1947, c. 184, p. 830, s. 1, eff. May 23, 1947.
