Text

1. a. Notwithstanding any laws, rules, or regulations to the contrary, the governing body of a local unit, board of education, or county college may adopt policies, by ordinance or resolution, as appropriate, for the payment of claims pursuant to N.J.S.40A:5-17, N.J.S.18A:19-2, or other applicable law, through the use of one or more standard electronic funds transfer technologies in lieu of payment through the use of signed checks or warrants. b.

(1)Any policy adopted pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall explicitly list the forms of standard electronic funds transfer technologies that may be used by that local unit, board of education, or county college.
(2)A policy adopted pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall designate the chief financial officer of the local unit,
