Text

In addition to any oath that may be specially prescribed, every person elected or appointed to any office in any local unit shall, before assuming such office, take and subscribe to the oaths required by chapter 1 of the Title "Oaths and Affidavits" (R.S. 41:1-1 et seq.). The oaths shall be filed with the county clerk in the case of a county, and with the municipal clerk in the case of a municipality, and shall be preserved by these officials as public records. L.1960, c. 169, s. 1, eff. Jan. 1, 1962.
