Whenever a general conflagration shall have taken place in any county, and in one or more municipalities thereof, such county shall be and is hereby authorized to appropriate, raise and expend a sum of money, not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), to relieve the loss, damage, distress and suffering caused by said general conflagration. L.1941, c. 48, p. 128, s. 1 eff. April 23, 1941.
