Text

The board of chosen freeholders shall provide in its annual budget of appropriations, a "judiciary fund" from which shall be paid the salary or compensation of clerks assigned by the county clerk for service in the courts held in the county, not exceeding one clerk to each judge holding said courts, and the probate clerks employed in the surrogate's office of the county. The compensation for the probate clerks shall be recommended by the surrogate and fixed by the board of chosen freeholders. Amended by L.1953, c. 37, p. 643, s. 40, eff. March 19, 1953.
