39:11-2. The terms "motor vehicle junk business" or "motor vehicle junk yard" shall mean and describe any business and any place of storage or deposit of two or more unregistered motor vehicles which, in the opinion of the commission, are unfit for reconditioning for use for highway transportation, or used parts of motor vehicles or material which has been a part of a motor vehicle, the sum of which parts or material shall, in the opinion of the commission, be equal in bulk to two or more motor vehicles, but shall not include a salvage pool or auto auction whose primary business is the sale of total loss vehicles on behalf of insurance companies. amended 2003, c.13, s.65; 2009, c.298, s.8.
