If a motor vehicle which has suffered sufficient damage to render it economically impractical to repair is subsequently repaired, a certificate of ownership for the vehicle may be issued to a person only if: a. The person presents to the director a salvage certificate of title; b. The repaired vehicle is inspected by an official specially designated by the director to determine the accuracy of its vehicle identification number; c. The person submits proof of ownership of repair parts used to the director; and d. The person complies with any other requirement the director deems appropriate. L.1983, c. 323, s. 4.
