20.
a.The functions, powers, and duties of the New Jersey Commerce Commission, pursuant to P.L.1992, c.165 (C.40:54D-1 et seq.), with respect to a tourism improvement and development authority, established pursuant to section 18 of P.L.1992, c.165 (C.40:54D-18), are continued and are transferred to the Department of State, to be administered within that department as the Secretary so determines. Any employees of the New Jersey Commerce Commission who are assigned to perform the work of the Tourism Improvement and Development Authority may be transferred to the Department of State subject to the protections set forth in subsection b. of section 4 of this act.
