2.The Legislature finds and declares: a. The Legislature of the State of New Jersey approved legislation in 1992, concurred in by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and approved by the Congress of the United States, amending the Compact creating the Delaware River Port Authority to facilitate the unification of the ports of the Delaware river by authorizing the creation of a subsidiary corporation or corporations and the taking of other measures to effectuate the unification.
b.Pursuant to the provisions of the Compact amendments, the merger or unification of port facilities in the State of New Jersey must be done in accordance with State law.
c.It is therefore in the public interest, pursuant to existing law, for this Legislature to consent to legislation that will direct that, upon the
